Walls Of Jericho Interview

By Gothik Divaa

The American band “Wall of Jericho” is with us to talk about their 20 years of career and future plans.

Hello guys! thanks for your time for “Metalheads Forever Magazine”, Greetings from Mexico City.

You have been in Metalcore for 20 years … How do you think the world scene has evolved?

Dustin: I think it’s become much much bigger in both a good and bad way. The good is more kids out there have access to hardcore music and the mostly positive message and local scene it produces, which in a lot of cases is a safe place for a lot of young lost kids. The bad is there are so many bands and the music is suffering from a very “same” sounding approach musically as well as the comradery, ethics and life long friends you form within the hardcore music community is becoming watered down and treated more like a fad than a community.

Based on your experience in the music business, What have been the successes of the Metalcore scene so far?

Bands like Bring me the Horizon and Motionless in White being so massive and those dudes being just a bunch of kids that love Hardcore Music is to me the greatest thing about Hardcore and the scene they came from.

You throughout your career have shared the stage with several bands like: Bullet For My Valentine, All That Remains, Unearth and many more

Which band would you like to share the stage with at this moment in time?

I like to see some of the classic bands out there like Suicidal Tendencies, Sick of It All, Agnostic Front and Madball still doing their thing. We enjoy all those bands company and watch their shows pretty much every night. I’d like to do some shows with Stick to Your Guns cause they’re all great friends, I really like Stray From The Path a lot. there’s a bunch of great hardcore bands out right now that I’m feeling.

On the other hand you have also participated in several festivals in different parts of the world … so What places would  you like  to visit into the future?

I want to Play AFRICA!!!!!

Moving on to another topic, you have several albums. Which you think has been the most representative in your career?

our latest album “no one can save you from yourself” is a good representation of how we have evolved over the years yet still have stayed true to who and what we are as a band.

So far … your most recent production is  “No One Can Save You From Yourself” (2016) I would like to know if you will create new material for this 2018 ? or is 2019 the target?

We have some touring left but late 2018 or early 2019 would be more realistic.

Do you have planned concert for this year ?

check our instagram, twitter, Facebook and website www.wallsofjerichoband.com  we have some east coast dates with First Blood coming up in june.

Finally … Some message that you want to give to the readers of  the magazine “Metalheads Forever Magazine? Thanks so much for your time. Greetings from Mexico City, Gothik Divaa.
