SHINY AND OH SO BRIGHT, VOL. 1 / LP: NO PAST. NO FUTURE. NO SUN.

SPECIAL 30TH ANNIVERSARY LIVE SHOWS KICK OFF NOVEMBER 28TH IN WISCONSIN

Los Angeles, CA (November 16, 2018) – Entertainment Weekly spotlighted it on “The Must List,” Vulturesaid it shows a “clearly rejuvenated singer-guitarist Billy Corgan,” the San Francisco Chronicle praised its “sublime, bristling melodies” and Q magazine gave it 4 stars, pointing out its “moments of glorious burning distortion” and called “Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts)” “one of the most resplendent songs of their career. For a band claiming ‘no past’ and ‘no future,’ the present suits them extremely well.”

We’re talking, of course, about The Smashing Pumpkins’ much-anticipated new LP, SHINY AND OH SO BRIGHT, VOL. 1 / LP: NO PAST. NO FUTURE. NO SUN., which you can hear in its entirety by clicking HERE.

The 2-time Grammy winning band has been previewing the LP over the course of the past few weeks, beginning with the release of “Solara,” then “Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts)” and most recently, “Knights of Malta.”

SHINY AND OH SO BRIGHT, VOL. 1 / LP: NO PAST. NO FUTURE. NO SUN. was produced by multi-Grammy winner Rick Rubin and is the first Smashing Pumpkins LP in over 18 years to feature founding members Billy Corgan, James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlain with longtime guitarist Jeff Schroeder. It’s available for preorder HERE via Billy Corgan’s own Martha’s Music under exclusive license to Napalm Records via a strategic worldwide partnership.

On November 28th, the band will launch their special 30th anniversary live shows with a performance at The Sylvee in Madison, WI. Tickets for the shows are available HERE and dates are listed below. On December 8th, they’ll headline the first night of KROQ’s Almost Acoustic Christmas in Los Angeles, CA.

The seminal group recently wrapped their monumental Shiny And Oh So Bright Tour, which sold over 300,000 tickets across North America and saw them playing sold-out arena shows at venues including The Forum, United Center and Madison Square Garden. Produced by Live Nation, the tour was the band’s first in nearly two decades to feature Corgan, Chamberlin and Iha, alongside Schroeder, bassist Jack Bates and keyboardist Katie Cole. Critics were quick to praise the tour’s opening dates as “a massive gift to their fans” (Uproxx), “a welcome reminder of why those early albums resonated in the first place” (SPIN), and “an unforgettably rewarding and often spectacular odyssey” (Forbes).

Formed in Chicago, IL in 1988, The Smashing Pumpkins released their heralded debut album Gish in 1991 and found mainstream success with 1993’s 4x multi-platinum Siamese Dream and 1995’s 10x multi-platinum Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. With over 30 million albums sold to date, the two-time GRAMMY®, MTV VMA, and American Music Award winning band remains one of the most influential alternative rock bands in the world.
